I like how this jacket has the drawstring in the front, it is really useful. Also, I wish there were a little bit more pockets but other than that, the backpack is really high quality. The color is also really nice.
Jay –
Great backpack for day hikes and commuting to the office. Love the laptop sleeve and internal pockets. It can hold more than you would think from its size.

I graduated from university 1.5 months ago and am currently packing up my hometown room to move to NYC. I just emptied out this backpack and I’m not embarrassed to say I got a bit emotional. For the past four years this backpack and a white baseball hat with my university’s symbol on it followed me everywhere around campus and the world. Both possessions were beaten and battered but took it like a champ. If you’re looking for a slim-profile backpack that can carry your laptop to class and (to the horror of your mother) the bare necessities for a winter break backpacking trip through Africa, look no further. My only regret is that I didn’t order it in white so that the kids in my classes couldn’t more clearly read its story.
A bit of advice as you start college:
1) major in what interests you. Google, Goldman, and McKinsey are looking for smart, passionate kids, and that does not necessitate an economics or finance major
2) Get involved in what interests you, not what you think will boost a resume. No one really cares about your involvement unless (maybe) you’re the president, and I can promise you won’t be named president unless you actually care about the organization. Any time you spend on an organization you don’t care about would be much better spent on…
3) GPA GPA GPA GPA GPA GPA. Anyone who tells you it doesn’t matter graduated from college 30 years ago or went down a career path you don’t want to follow. Get a 4.0, or at least a 3.70, and understand your GPA will probably slip about 0.10 points from freshman to senior year
4) have fun, but try to take a long-term view on what you do for fun. Day drinking and bottle service are great, but after awhile it starts to feel like you’re trying to fill a void with a black hole (trippy!). My favorite memories and most enjoyable moments were spent exploring the outdoors and traveling in S America, Africa, and the Middle East. Maybe that’s not your cup of tea, but try to be more creative than frat parties;)

I bought this bag to be used this bag for 2 years of college and now I use it for vacations and long days at the beach. It may look smaller than other models of the bag but it fits SO MUCH! I will keep it forever! It worked fully packed as my airline personal item and fit under my seat. I hope you love it too!

Bought this for my son who’s in middle school after his other backpack ripped apart after just two months of school. He is so happy with the fit and style of the Jester. It looks SO much more comfortable on him than his previous backpack. I have high hopes that this one will last him through high school.

I use this product to carry my laptop and for my every day accessories and it is perfect! Looks very good.

What I always loved about the Jester by the north face, it’s a simplistic no nonsense backpack!
The bag is straight forward, and it’s easy to access the items in your bag. It’s the best carry-on backpack And it’s comfortable. You will not go Wrong with This backpack. Thank you north face for continually keep this Jester product line active. . Stay safe and healthy, we will get through this!

I purchased a Jester Merlot backpack years ago, and still enjoy using it on my travels.
You can really pack in your necessities, jacket, and camera gear in it. Now if I can find
a larger version, I would be even happier. Thanks North Face.

Recently purchased this to replace my everyday bag. It is the perfect size to carry my laptop and essentials needed for the day. It’s also a great size to take on a day hike and to use for travel, making it a very versatile backpack! I also love the double handle at the top, this is a unique feature that makes it super easy to handle the bag, particularly when putting in overhead bins while traveling. Lastly, the price for the quality and versatility can’t be beat.

Seriously, this is by far the most durable, comfortable and stylish backpack I have ever had. I can use it for office and travel. I’ve had it for more than a year and it still looks like a brand new. This backpack made me fell in love with The North Face. Definitely worth the price. North Face designed this backpack in a way that comfort meets fashion.

JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. I NEEDED A BACKPACK THAT I COULD USE FOR WORK THAT WASN’T TOO BIG AND HAD ENOUGH POCKETS FOR MY STUFF AND THIS FITS THE BILL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR THIS TYPE OF BAG. IT HAS A COMPARTMENT FOR A LAPTOP SMALLER THAN 15. 4″
Robert –
It’s a great compact back pack for commutes and trip around the city. I bought this to use for family trips in and around Bangkok. I also used it as my personal item for the plane ride from the USA to Thailand.
I held my 13″ MacBook Air, my sons 16″ laptop, an accordion style document holder with 36 dividers 4″ thick, an iPhone 11 pro, Beats Studio 3 in a case, charging blocks and cords, a spiral notebook, two wireless mice, pens, pencils, facial tissue, hand sanitizer and maybe a few more odds and ends
The shoulder straps are as tight or loose as you prefer. There is a chest strap too. I had no issue with back sweat. It’s durable materials and quality construction will last for many years.
I’m 6’4″ and 215 pounds. The back pack wasn’t too small for me which was a concern when I bought it.
Zai –
I like how practical this backpack is especially with all the compartments that it has. It is also super comfortable to be carried everyday! I can’t think any other brands can beat the practicality of this backpack along with its modern and stylish design.
Alice –
Received this as a gift to replace older north face backpack that I had for ten years. So far I like the design, I’m utilizing the laptop pouch for my tablet as my laptop has a case that doesn’t fit. This jester has less straps than the previous models but the water bottle holder is much taller than previous models. Very excited to use, would love a gift card.
Jessica –
I bought this backpack for work. Fits my lunch, laptop & tools nicely. The most comfortable back pack I have ever used. The cushioned straps & ergonomic design are top notch. The clasp at the neck keeps it secure. Fits a lot but doesn’t feel heavy. The gold is deeper than it looks on the website but still very nice.
Patrick –
So functional and who can forget sleek as all get out! Love all 7 of my The North Face backpacks but this one is my favorite

I like this bag but have come to find a few problems that are more annoying than anything.
1) The front smaller pocket protrudes into the larger pocket. I don’t carry that much stuff in the small front pocket. When I try to get things out of the large pocket, it’s almost like I am fishing. In addition, I have found that the small pocket at times as bent books or documents.
2) When I put the straps on, one strap constantly feels off. I have adjusted the strap and done all the necessary things but still, odd.
I still will use this bag. It does fit my large water bottle and get’s the job done.
Lee –
The most comfortable pack I have owned.
You really notice if you have a bad back.
I highly recommend it if you have to walk a lot.
Jordan –
Best backpack I’ve ever had. Not only does it have a sleek and satisfying design, it’s also extremely durable which is hard to find. 10/10 would recommend.
Peter –
It’s a smaller pack but we’ll made. 13 inch laptop would be snug…

Perfect backpack for biking, snowshoeing, hiking. Just the right size to carry extra shirt, sun glasses, gloves etc… lightweight, side pockets for water. If you’re looking for a smaller day pack, this is perfect.
Richard –
This is the best made backpack I’ve ever seen! I surprised my daughter and she loves it! She said it’s the best hiking backpack that she’s ever had!!
Aaron –
Love this bag. Small size but holds a decent bit. Very practical for a laptop bag and carryon travel.
Jarren –
The backpack looks awesome however it keeps falling over and typically won’t sit straight up. Other than that the backpack has a lot of room and is comfortable to wear.
Della –
WOW! I love this backpack! I bought it to use for travel instead of a carry on. It is the prefect size. I am able to easily pack what i need for a 20 day vaca out of the US , with roo. In the pocket for what I wanted access to on the plane. Plus I was able to put my jacket thru the bungee on the front with no concern of it falling out! Again, I . LOVE. THIS. BACKPACK!!
